With so much time to be gone from home even with the enjoyment of some areas of Gods Country that is still left unchanged by man the life of me was being sucked out by the stress that came packaged with the just in time for just in time, also with that was the manner in which I could unwind after a days or nights work, the unwind time would eat into the sleep time, but sleep time doesn't always come just because I would lay down, maybe because I was made to feel that way or maybe because I felt that way, either way, it was probably still the human nature that even Truck Drivers can't break free from, good thing companies can't detect that in a drug test lol.

With the rising numbers in population things have got into a tight spot, companies that once kept product in even a couple of days supply availability now are only keeping supply for the day itself, think about it.......

Here is what the future of trucking has brought me, talking about comparing my past in the 1980's and although even back then I was a heavy duty Trucker, but because I wanted to be and felt like it. This day in time of 2010 a majority of Trucking Companies are tightening up what they have already tightened up, and it is the Driver that takes up ALL the slack for this industry............

Even though the last Company I drove for did not complain about idling the truck to maintain a comfortable temperature the states that already have joined the no idle law made it extremely stressful to really rest comfortably due to the paranoia of being busted....

Once again another slack taken up by the Driver, with all of the stress of tight rules and regulations, traffic or population in vehicles which ever way you want to put that, the stress was too overwhelming for one that was not brought up in this type of heavily controlled atmosphere, some can adapt to being a robot and I can not

The Trucking Industry is one of the most inhumanly controlled industry in the World, the only advantage one company has over another company is time of delivery, where some companies may take a day or two extra compared to one that is using faster time as their competition eliminator this also puts a strain on a driver, one load in particular that I ran from Salinas CA to Lebanon TN in two days took me driving 1150 miles per day, this amount of miles may not look like much on this web page or on someone else's figures but it is a extreme workout for the mind, nothing physical about it really, but mentally like working out for a 20 hour period

although some would say this didn't have to be done, but for some companies this is how they want it done, then it is up to the driver to decide if the want to work there or not, more than likely this kind of company will have faster trucks than most of the larger companies have, but faster just means more, while more miles mean more money, more is still more and too, faster trucks from my experience have a lower pay per mile or per percentage than some of the slower trucks

with the slower trucks, the stress is also present not from running thousand mile days but by getting grid locked into the right lane as the traffic merges onto a freeway with all the cars and faster trucks being able to stay to the left, the slower truck is by law told to stay to the right to allow faster traffic to pass, even after getting past the more congested areas it would seem to me that all the traffic passing by constantly on my left side would cause stress from all the repetition though out the course of a day, week, month, year................

sometimes when one becomes overwhelmed by what ever it is that overwhelms one, whether it be trucking or sitting around with friends drinking, the time to throw in the towel is a good thing....

In this business the more you give the more they take, the more they take the less you have. To continue in a rut can be comfortable until the rut becomes a grave....

....and I'm back quiet
